The Conference

The "European Congress", also called "EuroCo", is the annual summit of AIESEC’s local committee presidents of two regions, Europe and North America. Around 200 young leaders from up to 45 countries are brought together to receive hard- and soft-skill trainings, discuss relevant world issues and interact with AIESEC’s partners. As one of the biggest international conferences within the global AIESEC network, EuroCo is of particular importance and serves as a networking platform for all participants. The local commitee presidents, each leading around 100 people, have the chance to exchange their ideas and experiences with each other and build friendships that can last a lifetime. Since EuroCo is hosted by a different country each year, we are proud that in 2010 the congress will be hosted by Austria for the first time in history under the patronage of Dr. Heinz Fischer, the President of the Republic of Austria.

On 18. October 2010, which is the first day of the congress, the Global Village and the Opening Ceremony will take place in Vienna. The rest of the conference (19.-23. October) will be held in a beautiful little town in the south-east of Austria, namely Fürstenfeld.

Essential parts of the congress are the four „Special Events“:

These events are made "special" because through them it is possible to add an individual Austrian “touch” to the congress. During the "Opening Ceremony" the delegates of EuroCo 2010 are officially welcomed to the congress and introduced to Autrian hospitality. The "Global Village", which is going to take place at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, acts as a multi-cultural fair. For 2-3 hours the delegates and the general public will have the opportunity to mingle through around 45 country stands and taste local food and drinks. Naturally, the "Austrian Night" will be influenced by Austrian culture, which will be passed on to our delegates especially in the course of this particular evening. The "Gala Night" serves as an occasion during which delegates will get to know Austria's Ball culture and can spend a relaxed evening in a fancy atmosphere.
